Being a parent is one of the toughest jobs that anyone can have. So much is at stake, especially these days with so much deprivation, isolation, and loss. There are a lot of tough decisions that we have to make as parents to keep our children healthy, secure, well-adjusted, thriving, and on track. At times we get conflicting information from friends, family, and the internet, and it’s not really clear which way to proceed. Our therapists are here to help you make good decisions that will support the social and emotional health of your child.
We have therapists who specialize in working with our littlest clients (2+ pre-schoolers) through high school and college aged family members. We have clinician skilled in parent coaching, others who are registered play therapists, and still others who provide psychotherapy to adults dealing with difficult and heart-breaking parenting issues.
We also offer co-parenting counseling
post-divorce, separated, or for unmarried parents. Successful co-parenting helps to ensure that children are receiving the support that they need to thrive. If your relationship is contentious, here are some tips
that may help.
At Kentlands Psychotherapy, we have therapists with expertise in the full range of parenting concerns and experiences from peripartum anxiety and depression
, infant care challenges, and parenting of preschoolers
, and teens.
Just as importantly, all of our Clinicians are parents themselves, so we are sympathetic to the job and skeptical of any one-size-fits-all solutions.
