Illness Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
At Kentlands Psychotherapy, we are committed to the health and well-being of all our clients and staff. In light of this, we developed the following standards (aka Illness Policy) when clients or therapists are feeling unwell:
Therapist Illness: If your therapist feels unwell, they or a staff member will contact you to discuss options. Depending on their condition, these will likely include converting to virtual or rescheduling entirely.
Consideration for Others: If you are experiencing symptoms of illness. Please consider this when attending in-person appointments. This helps protect the health of other patients and our staff.
Communication with Your Therapist: If you are still deciding whether to attend your session in person due to sickness, please discuss this with your therapist. They can provide guidance based on your specific situation. Please contact your therapist directly for rapid communication. If you cannot reach them, please get in touch with our office by phone or email.
Symptoms and Exposure: If you are experiencing Flu or COVID-like symptoms, specifically fever, we strongly advise against attending in-person sessions. Especially in the early phase of illness, we are most likely to spread the illness to others. Instead, consider a virtual session or rescheduling your appointment.
In-Office Safety Measures: When attending in-person sessions, please adhere to any safety measures agreed to with your therapist, such as mask-wearing, hand sanitizing, and social distancing, as applicable.
APPOINTMENT OPTIONS
- No Charge for Last-Minute Illness Cancellations: We understand that health can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel your appointment due to illness, please inform us immediately. We will not charge a cancellation fee for last-minute changes due to health reasons.
- Flexible Rescheduling Options: We offer flexible rescheduling options if you need to reschedule due to illness. We aim to find a time that better suits your recovery period.

- Virtual Session Alternatives: In most cases, if you cannot attend in person, we can switch your appointment to a virtual format. This option allows you to continue your therapy without interruption.
Our policies are designed to provide flexibility and support to our clients while maintaining a safe environment for everyone. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for entrusting us with your healthcare needs.
Sincerely,
Kentlands Psychotherapy
