Child Play, Sand Tray Therapy, or PCIT Clinician (Hot Fill)

As a Kentlands Psychotherapy Child Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support and intervention to children experiencing various emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct clinical assessments to understand the child’s emotional, social, and developmental needs. Use clinical interviews to formulate an accurate diagnosis.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based and tailored to each child’s specific needs. Moreover, collaborate with parents/guardians and other professionals involved in the child’s care to establish treatment goals.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents through various modalities, such as play therapy, Theraplay, sand tray therapy, talk therapy, and art therapy.
- Progress Monitoring: Continuously evaluate and monitor the child’s progress towards treatment goals. Modify treatment plans as needed to ensure the best outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with parents/guardians, teachers, and other professionals involved in the child’s life to provide holistic support and coordinate care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Ethical and Legal Compliance: Adhere to all ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing the practice of child therapy and mental health services.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child therapy through ongoing professional development and training.

Minimum Requirements Include:
- Licensed Maryland Psychologist, LCSW-C, or LCPC.
- Experience working with early childhood, preschool, and primary school-aged children
- Advanced training in Theraplay, PCIT, Play Therapy, or Sand Tray therapy
- Comfortable working with families disrupted by divorce, comfortable with diplomatic coordination with both parents in contentious custody arrangements
- Collaborates and works well in a team with frequent shared referrals or multiple family members receiving care
