Dr. Jolene Drblik

Psychologist for Children, Teens & Young Adults

Helping young people feel seen, supported, and empowered

Are you concerned your child or teen is anxious, withdrawn, acting out, or falling behind in school? Dr. Jolene Drblik is a warm, engaging, and highly experienced psychologist who helps children, adolescents, and young adults build resilience, regulate emotions, and strengthen their relationships with themselves and their families.

With deep expertise in trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and family dynamics, Dr. Drblik creates a safe, relatable space where young people feel understood. She knows that when youth feel safe and heard, real healing and growth can happen.

Dr. Drblik offers evidence-based therapy for:

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood swings

  • ADHD and executive functioning challenges

  • Trauma, PTSD, and school refusal

  • Self-harm and suicidal thoughts

  • Identity development and self-esteem

  • Family communication and conflict

  • Personality-related struggles and emotional dysregulation

She also supports parents with insight and guidance—helping them feel confident while their child builds trust, independence, and healthier coping strategies.

How Dr. Drblik Builds Connection & Change

Dr. Drblik is known for her blend of empathy, humor, and authenticity. She meets youth where they are—without judgment—and earns their trust through genuine connection. Her therapeutic style is warm but structured, offering both emotional safety and effective tools for change.

She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and relational psychodynamic therapy to customize treatment to each individual’s needs. Her work is especially effective for kids and teens who are sensitive, intense, quirky, or struggling to feel understood.

A Partner to Parents

Dr. Drblik understands that it’s painful to watch your child pull away, especially when they’re struggling. She supports the whole family by:

  • Offering a confidential space for youth to express themselves

  • Building bridges of communication between youth and caregivers

  • Helping parents feel more empowered and informed

  • Encouraging consistent, coordinated support between sessions

She believes every child deserves at least one adult who believes in them without question—and she often becomes that person while working to restore trust at home.

Special Insight into School & Systemic Stressors

In her work at the John L. Gildner Regional Institute of Children and Adolescents (RICA), Dr. Drblik has supported children and teens with complex emotional, academic, and behavioral needs. Her experience in both therapeutic day school and residential settings means she understands:

  • The IEP and special education process

  • Collaboration with schools and outside agencies

  • The impact of learning challenges and emotional dysregulation

  • The needs of families navigating high-risk or high-stress situations

She’s a skilled advocate for youth and families, especially when treatment involves school systems or community supports.

Why She Does This Work

Dr. Drblik earned her doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and has always gravitated toward supporting children and families. In addition to her formal clinical training, she has volunteered in hospitals, after-school programs, and youth centers throughout her career.

Her joy working with young people is contagious—and helps foster a strong therapeutic bond. She sees every stage of development as a chance to build resilience, confidence, and lasting change. Her mission is to help young people not only survive challenges but grow into their best, healthiest selves.
