Applications for the 2026-2027 school year open in the summer of 2027
(The 2026-2027 school year spots are FULL)
Description
If you’re a Senior in High School who has taken or is taking AP Psychology or a College Student or recent College Graduate interested in Psychology who is looking for a high-quality training opportunity, we may be able to help.
Please note: As an exclusively fee-for-service private practice, we cannot offer ANY clinical internships or externships to graduate students at this time. Although you will likely interact with clients at our reception desk, you will NOT provide counseling or counseling-adjacent work with our clients. Therefore, our internships will NOT meet your graduate-level clinical externship or internship training program’s client contact hour requirements.
Our interns assist our clients and their guests feel welcome when they arrive by, at times, utilizing the reception desk as their workstation. They have limited direct interaction with clients on administrative matters such as clarifying scheduling questions.
They can assist our Office Hospitality Assistant with keeping our spaces well stocked and in good shape for our client guests. They can lead in projects such as the Main Street Trick or Treat event or Boo Bash.
They collaborate in writing our blogs about mental health-related topics. They will do background research for media posts, Facebook curation, TV interviews, Advice columns, etc.
Candidates must possess the following skills and qualities:
- Maturity that includes an ABSOLUTE capacity for maintaining confidentiality
- Reliability and responsibility at all times
- Diligence when assisting staff
- Compassionate spirit of service when interacting with clients
- Intellectual curiosity when engaged with clinicians
- Enthusiasm for the field and humility when working with those senior to you (which will be everyone)
Interns will be given an opportunity to learn about the profession with a supportive staff.
