Helping You Understand Your Brain to Change Your Life: Now seeing clients at Kentlands Psychotherapy in Gaithersburg, Maryland

For over 30 years, Dr. Robert Chase has helped children, adolescents, adults, and families break free from the patterns that keep them stuck. As both a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist, Dr. Chase brings a unique understanding of how the brain works—and how to work with your brain to create lasting change.

A Different Approach to Therapy

Dr. Chase’s approach is grounded in a simple but powerful truth: your struggles don’t mean something is wrong with you. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, or motivation difficulties, you’re experiencing normal human challenges—often complicated by coping strategies that no longer serve you.

What makes Dr. Chase’s work distinctive is his integration of neuropsychology with practical therapeutic techniques. He helps clients understand the “why” behind their patterns, then uses targeted methods—including relaxation training and conversational hypnosis—to address the automatic emotional and motivational patterns that keep you from moving forward.

Creating Safety, Trust, and Real Understanding

Dr. Chase is committed to building therapeutic relationships where clients feel genuinely safe, heard, valued, and understood. He works to reduce the anxiety and shame that often accompany mental health struggles by helping you see your concerns with compassion and clarity. His goal isn’t just insight—it’s rapid and lasting change that helps you live the life you want.
