My approach is patient-centered, focusing on collaboration with therapists and medical providers to comprehensively address your or your child’s mental health concerns.

Experience You Can Trust

With over 24 years of military service, including roles at Walter Reed Military Medical Center and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, I bring extensive experience in educating service members and their families. I have also trained graduate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner students, underscoring my proficiency and dedication to teaching and training future psychiatric nursing graduate students at the United States Uniform Services University of the Health Sciences.

Military Service

I met Russell Carr, MD, and Adrian Kress, MD, approximately 20 years ago at the DC Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the Inpatient Psychiatry Ward, where I was a Staff Nurse. Subsequently, I completed my Master of Science (MS) as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS) at Penn State University. 2017, I completed my Doctorate (DNP) in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP).

I served 24 years on active duty in the US Army Nurse Corps, providing care for service members and their families. Some of my experience includes providing treatment for college students at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Being the Medical Director of the Addictions Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Germany. Lastly, provided acute mental health triage and stabilization of service members being evacuated from Middle Eastern conflicts also at LRMC.

Coordination of Care

I value collegiality with therapists and other medical providers. Working jointly to address, care for, and relieve the stress and suffering due to mental health concerns. Moreover, if you choose to work with me and have a therapist outside of Kentlands Psychotherapy, I will be proactive in coordinating care with your therapist.

I strive to form professional partnerships with my patients and their parents, gaining an understanding of their situation and concerns. Offering daytime, evening, in-person, and virtual appointments, it is important to me to prioritize busy students and professionals and their tight schedules. I am board-certified and licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).
