Dr. Cerami-Guarino also works with Dr. Julie Mudryj at the John L Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA). She is a member of our testing services team.
Dr. Briana Cerami-Guarino brings deep expertise, steady compassion, and a child-centered approach to her assessment work at Kentlands Psychotherapy. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University with an emphasis in Traumatic Stress Psychology. She has dedicated her training to understanding the emotional, cognitive, and developmental needs of children and adolescents. Families immediately appreciate her calm presence and warmth. Moreover, she makes young people feel safe, seen, and respected during every step of the testing process.
Dr. Cerami-Guarino has extensive experience in therapeutic day schools and residential treatment settings. In these settings, she evaluated students with a wide range of learning, social-emotional, and behavioral profiles. At JLG-RICA—one of Montgomery County’s most specialized programs—she conducted psychological, cognitive, executive functioning, and socioemotional assessments. She regularly led feedback sessions that helped parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams understand how a child learns. Her background includes meaningful work with children navigating autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and complex developmental needs.
Parents working with Dr. Cerami-Guarino can expect a thoughtful and collaborative assessment experience. She takes time to learn each child’s strengths, struggles, and story. Then, she translates test results into clear, actionable recommendations that support both home and school success. Her goal is simple: to help families understand their child more deeply. She aims to guide a path forward that feels hopeful, informed, and tailored to the child’s unique needs.
