The New Client Care Bookshelf at Kentlands Psychotherapy
At Kentlands Psychotherapy, we believe in the healing power of stories and in the strength of a community that shares its wisdom generously. Whether it’s a novel that helped you feel seen or a well-loved self-help book that offered hope, the right book at the right time can be transformative.
Inspired by the many Little Free Libraries throughout our community, we’re excited to introduce a new project that brings our values to life: The Community Giving Client Care Bookshelf.
Located just outside our Den-level suite entrance, this beautiful shelf will showcase a growing collection of books focused on personal growth, emotional well-being, and meaningful storytelling—offered by clients, staff, and community members who want to give back and share their insights forward.
This is not a public browsing space.
>To protect the privacy and confidentiality of those we serve, only current clients of the practice will be able to access or browse the bookshelf. However, we warmly welcome donations from members of the broader community.
How to donate:
-
Current clients may place gently used books directly on the bookshelf during their visit.
-
Community members who would like to donate can drop off books at Dr. Carr’s front porch in the Kentlands neighborhood. (Email info@kentlandspsychotherapy.com for the address.)
Ideal donations include:
-
Self-help and personal growth books
-
Parenting and family life books
-
Meaningful fiction or memoirs
-
Titles related to emotional resilience, mindfulness, or mental health
Our team will regularly restock and refresh the shelf. As we review our offerings, we look forward to occasionally spotlighting our “Top Shelf Picks” in upcoming newsletters and social posts.
We hope this project becomes a shared space of wisdom, comfort, and inspiration for those walking through seasons of growth and healing.
Let’s fill this shelf—and our community—with care.
