We offer psychotherapy for
individual adults, as well as
for couples.
For individuals the therapy we
provide is less structured, more
collaborative in nature, and is
tailored to meet your goals.
Approaches for individual
therapy vary based on your
treatment goals.
They range from weekly
sessions for a few weeks or
months to address a focused
problem in your life, to
psychoanalysis, which is a more
intensive treatment to address
pervasive unhappiness, chronic
emotional pain, or a sense of
unfullfillment in your life.
Couples
therapy is focused on teaching
couples how to make their
relationships more loving by
increasing their marital
friendship and emotional
intimacy. This is done
by first understanding what
behaviors and communication
habits are putting the greatest
strain on the relationship.
Goals are set together
based on empirically grounded
strategies developed by John
Gottman
(Sound
Marital House),
Sue Johnson
(Emotion
Focused Therapy),
and Dan Wile
(Collaborative
Couple Therapy).
Effective marital
therapy, also known as couples
counseling or marriage
counseling, can be a great way
to rapidly increase your quality
of life. If this is
something you're considering, I
encourage you to read
