Special Military Issues

And Perhaps Most Importantly . . .

  1. I would be embarrassed if I were sent to a course like the Navy’s Ship Shape (weight loss) Program.   T/F

  2. I would be mortified if I had to be in my command’s remedial PT program.  T/F

If you answered True to four or more of the above items and if you know that the solution must come from you (and not just additional nutritional or exercise information) then I believe I can help.

As a clinical health psychologist, former Ship Shape program facilitator, and addictions rehabilitation program provider, I have extensive training and experience in motivating health behavior change.  Additionally, on a personal level, I have been able to answer True to 12 of the above 14 questions at various times in my Navy career.

Over the last few years I have been able to take what I have learned and successfully applied it to my own life.  I know it can be a challenge and I know it can be done.  I also know that getting control of your weight and exercise habits can be extremely gratifying.  I can offer you the expert support and assistance to make sustainable life style changes so your twice a year PRT stressor can become a more routine part of your job.  Together we could make your next PRT cycle a whole lot easier.  Please feel free to call or sent me an e-mail to talk about how.
