Dr. Krista Beyer is the
newest addition to our practice. Krista recently
relocated to the DC area. She has extensive
experience working with late adolescences and young
adults. I invited Dr. Beyer to join the practice
because I found her to be an old soul with a kind heart.
I expect she will be a valuable resource to our
community.
Couple's Therapy Extern. This externship is open
to senior-level doctoral psychology students who have successfully
completed the USUHS Couple and Marital Therapy
course. *Low
fee services available - call for details on current
extern availability*
If you are seeking a psychologist who can assist you
with the therapy and assessment needs of your young child or
adolescent, I recommend considering
Dr. Michelle New, founder of
Kentlands Kids.

Much of my work can be described as
helping people achieve relationship mastery
through collaborative mentoring.
I believe we all struggle with some universal challenges to
intimacy. There is rarely a "bad guy" when a couple is
struggling. People have a
natural capacity to find solutions to
problems, to discover strategies to improve
relationships, and to overcome self-imposed
obstacles within the right therapeutic
relationship. My job is to provide you with a
supportive ear, compassionate feedback, and to
ask questions that bring you to ideas for
action. It is also to help couples
find a new way to be with one another that warms the heart and
brings people together again as allies.
Aside from the private practice in Gaithersburg, MD, I also
teach at the Uniform Services University of the
Health Sciences where I train doctoral level
psychology students assessment and therapy
skills, including marital and couple's therapy. I am married and live with my family in
Montgomery Village, Maryland.
